Tatung Can Corp. started from the founder, a meat ball vendor in the country before. The vendor was famous for the unique tasty soy sauce, homemade and brewed from black soy beans. Consequently, many consumers would prefer the whole bottle of soy sauce to the meat balls. Then the soy sauce became the main product (by replacing the meat balls) and brought the glorious rise of Tatung Can Corp.

However, small grocery stores emerged with the changing times. In the second generation of Tatung Can Corp., Mr. Hangun Tseng promoted the sales by bicycle to the stores all year long no matter what the weather was like. For the mass production, Mr. Tseng procured some hand-driven equipment. The family business was formally turned into the small-scale factory as “Tatung Can Corp.”

In the third generation, the 28-year-old Chaoqin Tseng succeeded to the business from his father Hangun Tseng who had just passed away. For the ever-lasting business and the market trend, Chaoqin Tseng actively improved the taste of the soy sauce, founded the 1500-Ping (4958.55-square-meter or 540-square-feet) modern factory in the Douliu Industrial Park, and introduced the latest automated manufacture equipment for larger production.

Now, the consumers could purchase the products of Tatung Soy Sauce in Taiwan and foreign countries such as Singapore, Japan, US, Britan, Southeastern Asia, and Middle East.

Since 1980, the tourism in Taiwan has been prospering. The“Tatung Rest Area” at the Siluo Interchange was always crowded with booming customers. Not only has Siluo been well-known for “Tatung soy sauce”, but also has Tatung soy sauce become an outstanding gift that Taiwanese can buy for their relatives and friends.

The earthquake on September 21st, 1999 destroyed all the factory and the equipment. The situation of the Tatung business for years was like the soy sauce from the storage tank onto the floor…

Nevertheless, the full support of the employees, the manufacturers, and the sale representatives ~ produced the first bottle of soy sauce in the temporary manufacturing tent in one week after the earthquake. The original manufacture was restored in three months.

Having changed with the times and survived the earthquake, Tatung Can Corp. always insists on the importance of the best quality and service for customers. The manufacture of the automated equipment, the system of inspection with suitable instruments, and the strict quality control for the finished products have been introduced and adopted as the measures to ensure the effective execution of quality management.
